Living Life Mindfully
How often are you kind to yourself?
Hello and welcome to my world of living life mindfully. If we've not met before, my name is Becca Ray, and it is my mission to enrich and educate those who need it into my world of mindfulness and emotional freedom technique, tapping. Today, I'd like to talk to you about being kind and being kind to yourself. How often are we kind to ourselves? That's the question. How often do we put ourselves first? And I can categorically say that it's not very often at all. But we need it. We need to put ourselves first. Because without our batteries recharged, we are unable to help others around us. Sometimes we find that time is against us, and that we find that our beliefs of being kind to ourselves, self centred, selfish. And we tend to put ourselves last on the list. We don't put ourselves high on our priority list, but we need to be kind to ourselves. We need to give ourselves that love that we give and offer to our friends. We also need to stop listening to that inner chatter in our heads, that harsh critic of that we're not worthy, we don't deserve it, we've got more things to do, put other people first. We need to have a word with that inner critic and just say, this is time for me. So all you need to do is to set an intention of just giving yourselves 10 minutes a day or even just five minutes a day. And you can do that by stop scrolling, take yourself off social media and put your favourite music on, sit and listen to your favourite music for five minutes and notice how your energy rises. Rather than scrolling through social media on the internet, looking at things that you compare yourself to, you can take yourself outside. Have a walk, go and sit in your garden, if you have one, and if the weather's okay. Or, just make yourself one of your favourite drinks, and sip it slowly, in silence. It's just a case of being aware of where you are, and what you're doing, and noticing that you're doing it in the present moment, and you're not doing it with your head elsewhere, thinking, planning, worrying, making lists. It's all about self awareness. So offer yourself that kindness this week. Set your intention to give yourself at least five minutes a day. And notice how you feel at the end of the day. By giving yourself that extra bit of time, you will have responded to people in a kinder way. So fill your cup first, and give yourself that kindness that you deserve. If you feel that you need some support on this, then please get in contact with me and I'll be happy to help either through mindfulness meditation techniques or through some tapping. Have a lovely week and don't forget, be kind.
