Living Life Mindfully

Honoring your energy when setting your boundaries

Becca Reay

This is a mindfulness meditation, honoring your energy through loving boundaries. It is perfect to rest, relax, and reset your energy. So getting yourself comfortable in a position that's dignified and respectful for your practice. Feeling your feet flat on the ground, your weight of your body on the support gently lengthening your spine.

Tilting your chin downward slightly, and closing your eyes softly if it's safe to do so, or slowly gaze or softly gazing forward. Whatever you feel more comfortable and feeling into your breath as you breathe in and as you breathe out.

And this is a gentle space to check in with your energy and reconnect with a part of you that knows when it's time to say no.

So allowing your shoulders to drop and let your jaw soften, taking a long, slow, deep breath in. And gently exhale through the mouth.

I want you to begin to notice where your energy sits today without any judgment. Just becoming aware of how your body is feeling and where your mind and your thoughts are. Are you feeling open and spacious? Or maybe a little tight, a little tired or a little scattered.

If he feels comfortable, bring one hand to your heart  and feel your own warmth there. And gently ask yourself, where have I given away too much of myself lately?

Where might I need to say no so I can return to me?

There's no need to fix anything. Just notice what rises both in your body and in your mind,

and as you gently breathe in and breathe out, repeat softly in your mind. It's safe to honor what I need.

I can say no with love. And still be kind

my boundaries, protect my peace,

and just let those words land and feel their truth. Settle in your body.

And gently imagine drawing your energy back to you, like gathering golden threads of light, weaving them lovingly back into your own space, pulling your energy back into your own body.

You don't have to give everything away. You are allowed to keep some of that energy for yourself.

And taking one more deep breath here. Breathing in and breathing out. Feeling your feet flat on the ground and the weight of your body in the chair, bringing your awareness to the environment around you. You can slowly and gently open your eyes

and carrying this sense of calm, clarity, and quiet strength with you for the rest of the day.
